Informational materials to facilitate social dialogue in Latvia

From the very start, the Latvian Confederation of Employers (LDDK) has worked to enhance the competitiveness of Latvian companies that are based on people with business ideas and teams that are prepared to implement the ideas and work together.  There are many ambitious people in Latvia, and sometimes they only need advice to ensure success in their business.  The LDDK asked Comperio and a team of authors who were all senior experts in their fields to write three handbooks for employers to improve social dialogue in Latvia:

• “Social Partnership in Latvia’s Regions: Examples, Analysis, Development” discusses and explains the concepts of social dialogue and social partnerships.  The handbook offers a look at social dialogue at the national level, involving the largest employer organisations and labour unions as social partners;
• “Human Resource Planning and Evaluation Methods for Small and Medium Companies” is meant for businesspeople and offers practical suggestions and examples of human resources management at SMEs.  The book discusses ways of attracting and selecting employees, planning human resources, motivating and paying employees, and administering legal relations between employers and employees;
• “The Good Governance Handbook” discusses internationally recognised and scientifically practical governance concepts, explaining them and looking at how every organisation can implement good governance in its work and in interaction with society.  The book offers practical examples of good governance from Latvian companies, local governments and national government institutions.

All of these handbooks were available for employers and their organisations at the LDDK office in Rīga and at its branches in Liepāja, Rēzekne, Jēkabpils and Cēsis.
